Back On The Airwaves!

Back in 2004 I had the pleasure of presenting a mix show for WYBC-FM, 94.3 FM New Haven, Connecticut. I really enjoyed my two years on air and was sad when it ended. Well, on a drive through New Haven last week I stopped by the station to chat with my old friend Juan Castillo, Director of Operations. Long story short, very soon I'll be presenting an hour mix show as part of Soulful House Rhythms. I'm excited to be joining DJ's Markie Gee and Juan Coon on the airwaves. I'll let everyone know when I have the starting date and show time. Look out for the playlist right here on the blog.

Spring Break Mix

If the only thing I did was to go to school I'd be on spring break with the other 50 year old+ youngsters. I'm thinking it's time for another mix. Hope You Enjoy!

The year that was 2012. Wow time to take stock in the year. It was a great year. The wife and I spent 3 weeks with the grand kids. Love those kids, but it's nice to have quiet a space. Visited dad a lot. Went on a few trips. Brought too many records and a few pieces of DJ equipment. Hey, I ever brought a new mixing software and loaded it on my laptop learnt how to use it. Then continued to mix by ear. Old dog new tricks thing going on. Had lots of fun doing live edits with a laptop and a Ipad. Old dog with new toys. Heard some great music. Had great meals with friends. Went to a few good parties. Life is good. I'm happy to say to I've finally finished a semester in college. I must say am looking forward to the next semester.  A in Marketing and a B- in accounting. Well that's my update.  One more thing here is the first of two mixes from me to you. Pulled this one from he hundreds of tapes from years gone by. A fun night at Chez Est  July 2,1998. Big room, Hands in the air, Anthem style.

Back to School

It's been a great summer. My grand kids came to visit for three weeks. I was able to go on a few record and DJ equipment shopping trips. I spent fun times with the wife and dog. Found more records and old radio shows in storage. I also found my name tag from my first job. It's been a fun summer. Last week I spent some time at my mom's site and had lunch with dad. While in the Bronx I stopped at a Salvation Army Thrift Store not far from my high school. (They had some records, but I left empty handed.) I got back into the car and began to think. I haven't gone to college yet. I've been thinking about going to college for the last 36 years. I've worked hard at different jobs since 1976. I've done alright, but I was suppose to go to college right after high school. So within a week. I have taken my assessment exam, chose my major, pay my tuition and picked two evening courses. Monday I'm back in school. So this weekend I'll be partying before I have to go back to school. I'll have a classic mix or two posted soon.
