Another Friday At The Chez-Est 9-30-2011

Once every few months I play a Friday Night at what was my home base for many years. I play on a sound system I helped install. That's one of the reasons I call it home. Another reason I call it home is that I get to see many friends and meet new faces. Thanks Brian, Jamie, Tommy, Randy, Alejandro the staff at The Chez-Est Hartford. On the road this past week

I took a couple of days off from work to enjoy a few of my favorite pastimes. Driving, listening to great music and record digging. This week I decided to go up north. Massachusetts, Vermont and New Hampshire. The highlights of the day, I really enjoy Keene N.H. I must take the wife there for a weekend. Then there’s Brattleboro, VT. So I’m driving down RT. 119 get to the center of town and what do I see in front of me! Crates of records! I find a parking space and spend the next hour digging. “In The Moment” What a lovely store. Then I walk back to my car and there’s a “Turn It Up” Store. A great store when you’re looking for jazz. Record find of the day, Ze brass – Feels So Good – Atlantic Promo and WB Compilation LP “LIMO”

I’m all relaxed now.

Another Rainy Afternoon

Today I'm spending some time ripping and listening to music. Preparing for next weekend. Ripped a few dance tracks like Serge Ponsar "Out In The Night", Pattie LaBelle's Garage Classic "Eyes In The Back Of My Head", Subject "Celebrate" and many more. Sad Day In The Dance Music World Loleatta Holloway Has Gone Home

I've been lucky enough to work at least one Friday Night a month in the same bar from 1996-2010. The folks that would stay to the end, have put up with me playing this song as the last song of the night so many times. I would start from the acappella, tease the vocal and then play the song to the last "time won't take it away, awaaaaaaaaay" ending with an echo. This is one of my Top 10 Dance songs.

Another Sunday Night In The Books

February's Third Sunday 1st Two Hours

This Playlist is from the 1st two hours or February’s 3rd Sunday Event. There are a lot of talent people adding their touch to music. I like to check out Soundcloud’s “Disco Edits Group” from time to time and I’ll find some interesting songs. I played a few that evening. This mix starts with a disco classic and slowly speeds up to a nice pace. Tracks range from Disco, Nu Disco, Minimal, Soulful, Classic House. A fun night, hope you’ll enjoy the mix.
